Ministry Description:
The Usher's Ministry greets parishioners as part of the hospitality
before all Masses. Usher's arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the start
of Mass. Ushers are generally responsible for the seating of parishioners
(reserving pews as required), taking up the collection, presentation of
the gifts for Communion, and the distribution of bulletins and materials
at the end of Mass. In addition to welcoming new parishioners, ushers
ensure registration cards are available and provided. Additionally,
ushers are trained to handle emergencies, (including CPR), and maintain
emergency medical supplies and phone numbers. Ushers also control
the church environment (adjusting thermostats and lighting of the Sanctuary).
Each Mass has a Head and Assistant Head Usher, in addition to the Parish
Head Usher.
What this ministry can do for you:
The Usher Ministry is a great opportunity to meet parishioners
