In order to log in to the Maintenance site, you have to
be a contact in the database, with a valid username and password. A number of Saint
Michaels Ministry contacts have already been loaded with a default username/password
consisting of the first initial of their first name followed by their last name. After initial
login, you will be required to change your password...Give it a try! If it's not there,
you can register, and your ministry leader will be notified of your registration. After approval,
your username will be activated, and the ministry leader will contact you. Any questions with
the ministry site can be directed to
the webmaster.
You can change your password after logging in.
This is not encrypted.
The site has been tested with Microsoft Internet
Explorer 6.0, and Netscape 7.0. Please be sure you are using a browser that is compliant with these.
There are 3 levels of security on the site:
- Ministry Contact Access - This is a contact for the ministries. This person
can only view/edit their own entry.
- Ministry Leader - This is a contact that has access to view/edit
Ministries and Contacts that they are already associated with.
- Web Admin - This is a contact with full access
Menu Items
View Categories
Only Web site administrators have the ability View/Create/Edit Ministry Categories.
Create a Category
From the View Categories menu, click on Create a Category, and complete the Category name.
Update a Category
Click on a Category name to edit.
View Ministries
The Ministries that a user can view depend on their access. Web site administrators can view all ministries.
All other users can view the Ministries they are associated with. Only Web site administrators have the ability Create Ministries.
Create a Ministry
From the View Ministries menu, click on Create a Ministry, and complete
Ministry Information.Ministry Administrators will only be able to view/update Ministries that they are
already associated with. Web Site Administrators will be able to view/update all Ministries.
Clicking on the Ministry name on this page will bring up the Ministry Editing Page.
Ministry Editing
Ministry Leaders are able to update Ministries that they are
already associated with. Web Site Administrators will be able to view/update all Ministries.
Clicking on the Ministry name on this page will bring up the Ministry Editing Page.
- Ministry Category - This field is required. This determines where the ministry
appears on the menu. Please select one
- Ministry Name - This is the name that shows on menu. It must not be blank.
- Ministry Description - This appears when the Ministries are listed out by category.
- Ministry Url - This is a link to an external location for more information on the ministry.
- Ministry Email Forward - The primary contact for the Ministry. This will be the used to update the allministries.txt file.
- Ministry Email Alias - The generic email address that the website visitor sees. This will be the used to update the allministries.txt file.
- Immediate Needs - This is an indicator that will cause the ministry to be highlighted when Contacts
and registrants select ministries to be involved in
- Do not forward from Alias - viewable by web site Administrators, it should be checked if the user has
access to the the Email Alias.
- Update/Reset/Delete - Update will save the information on the page. Reset will return the values
to what they were when the page was loaded. The option to delete the ministry will be available if there
are no contacts associated with it.
Each Ministry's contacts are displayed on the Ministry page, as well. If the user is a Ministry Leader or
a web site administrator, they will be able to designate other Ministry Leaders with checkboxes here.
View Contacts
Web site administrators and Ministry Adminstrators have the ability to Create New
Contacts. Ministry Administrators will only be able to view/update Contacts that they are
already associated with. Web Site Administrators will be able to view/update all Contacts.
Clicking on the Contact name on this page will bring up the Contact Editing Page.
Contact Editing
- First Name - This field is required.
- Last Name - This field is required.
- Home Email.
- Work Email.
- Home Phone.
- Work Phone.
- Mobile Phone.
- Web Site Adminstrator - If the user is already an Adminstrator, this checkbox will appear
allowing the Administrator to update this field for a contact. This will give the contact full access
to the Ministry database.
- Ministry Leader - If the user is already a Ministry Leader, this checkbox will appear
allowing the Leader to update this field for a contact. This will give the contact access to
update Ministries that they are associated with.
- Contact Approved - Once a contact has registered, an Administrator must "approve" them before they
will be given access to the web site.
- Contact Locked Out - If a contact has signed in more than three times without changing passwords,
they will be locked out, and an Administrator must clear this checkbox to allow them access once again
- Ministries - A contact can be associated with more than one Ministry.
- Update/Reset/Delete - Update will save the information on the page. Reset will return the values
to what they were when the page was loaded. There is an option to delete the contact as well.
Change Password
Users can change their current password after vreifying their current password.
Loggoff
This will log the user out on the Ministry Maintenance site.
